St John's, Antigua
Discovered by Columbus in 1493, Antigua is beaches and history. Admiral Horatio Nelson spent time commanding the Leeward Islands fleet based in English Harbour in the later part of the 18th century. Completely restored as a national park, Nelson's Dockyard is the only Georgian dockyard in the world. The park includes Clarence House, a residence built for the future King William IV (1765-1837) when he served under Nelson as captain of the H.M.S. Pegasus.
If history isn't your thing, perhaps you'd prefer one of Antigua's many beaches. If not there is sailing, snorkeling, hiking, a canopy tour, cricket, golf, and stingrays.
